Growing up in the Five Towns

Israel Joffe was born and raised in New York City and the Five Towns on Long Island — a cluster of villages, including Lawrence and Cedarhurst, long known as a heartland of Orthodox Jewish family life on the East Coast. That upbringing shaped a career that has stayed close to community roots even as it moved through newsrooms, federal agencies, and technology teams.

He remains based in Boca Raton, Florida, but his map still traces back to where he started: he moved to Washington, DC, in 2016 and then to the Palm Beach area in 2021.

Volunteering with the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department

Community service is part of the record, not just the résumé. Israel Joffe served as a volunteer firefighter with the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department (LCFD) — a Jewish-community institution in one of the Five Towns — including during Hurricane Sandy, when volunteer companies along the Long Island shore were stretched thin.

A document from the Lubavitcher Rebbe

Among the materials Israel Joffe has shared publicly is a letter from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. It is one of several documents he has made available, and it sits alongside his professional credentials in the public archive below.
